Here are 100 quick and easy tennis tips to get your game going. We're going to spread this list out over a couple of posts to keep it interesting.
Tip #25 - You are going to want to imitate the incoming ball's trajectory using your backswing. For example, if the ball is going down then your racquet is going to want to go down as well.
Tip #26 - Now you are going to want to take the racquet back until the hand that is holding it is close to being in line with the shoulders, although the hand can possibly be a little lower than this if necessary.
Tip #27 - As you begin to turn, you may want to try to get a few feet between the ball and your body while turning sideways.
Tip #28 - By the time that the ball is about to bounce, you should be slightly bending your arm. You should take a final big step right around the same time that the ball is going to bounce, and the step should either be taken forward or it should be taken sideways.
Tip #29 - Immediately following that big last step, you are going to want to drop the tennis racquet down by relaxing your elbow. At this point, your arm is likely going to begin to stretch.
Tip #30 - On the two handed backhand as well as the forehand, you are going to begin to bring the back hip more forward just before the racquet reaches the very lowest part of the backswing.
Tip #31 - When you are using a single handed backhand, you are going to want to keep your back hip backward rather than moving it forward.
Tip #32 - In order to help your body to stay turned during the single handed back hand; you are going to want to consider moving your other hand backward while your racquet is being swung in a forward motion.
Tip #33 - You are going to want to drop the face of the racquet a little bit during baseline rallies, until it is just a little bit below the anticipated point of contact with the ball.
Tip #34 - While the racquet is being dropped you are going to want to begin your forward swing. You should begin by turning your back hip and then by swinging the arm in a forward motion.
Tip #35 - Now what you are going to want to do is to swing your arm in an upward and forward motion, keeping it relaxed while you move it in the ball's direction and then into the direction of the intended target in order to get the ball to go where you mean for it to.
