Butterfly 3 star USTTA approved table tennis balls

I play Senior Olympics and I use these balls for practice/play. They are quality balls. Butterfly makes a 3 star that is rated ITTF approved. The ITTF ones are a slightly higer rating at a greatly increased price. When I practice, I play with a lot of players that will only use the 'best' balls. I tell them we can use my Buterfly 3 stars and that is fine with them. I cannot tell any difference in the USTTA and the ITTF and obviously they can't either. No one has even noticed that they are not the 'BEST'. Good quality for the money.

Attempted to order on-line from another source, however the shipping was more than the product. I am glad I checked out Amazon. I am very happy with the quality of the product AND I got free shipping. I am sold on Amazon.

I recently bought a Butterfly TR40 match play rollaway table from Amazon. I had not played table tennis since my late twenties, back before they changed the game. But I definitely need more exercise and I wanted to get my family involved in this wonderful indoor game. So, we needed some balls and lots of them so we do not slow down play because we are chasing after the miss-hit balls. After a month there are a few stray balls around the family room, but not one has broken during play. They do break if stepped on or bounce irregularly in that case. We measured the bounce on the table and all seemed up to specs of 23 cm from a 30 cm drop. All the balls play the same as far as we can tell. All are round and bounce the same. These are great balls, very consistent and durable, but our bucket is still 2/3 full so not all have been tested. 3 stars U.S.A.T.T. approved 40 mm. A fantastic deal at $28.
Good value for the money

A month later and I am still playing on the first ball. There was some concern about quality with 72 balls in a plastic bag. The balls bounce and sound fine so concerns averted.

Very happy with the purchase. The Butterfly 3-star balls are well made, not like the ones you would purchase from Wal-mart or Sears. The pricing is reasonable so we bought two buckets. These are sold by Amazon so there were no worries. These balls are great for practice with the Robopong.
Great Deal on Excellent Balls

This is one of the best deals that you can find on a large amount of three star balls. The balls bounce evenly and cost about 1/3 the price of similar packages. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to practice with a large amount of balls or just looking for a large stock for tournament play.
best balls ever

I used these after using the 3 star stigas. These are definitely better. They are heavier than the Stigas so I think they're either made with denser plastic or more of it.
Excellent Balls; on my second set

I have a Robo Pong 2040 so these balls are an economical choice for me. I don't really understand where this negative feedback is coming from. I just received my second bucket of balls (my first was purchased over a year ago and the balls were fine). I personally bounced each ball and served it into the machine's reservoir; all 72 balls bounced evenly.
I purchased the balls directly from Amazon both times, perhaps this is the reason for the inconsistent reviews? Either way, I am loving the value of these! This second set should mean I'll be able to practice much longer before having to pick up loose balls. :) |
Best buy!!! Don't miss it!!!

They were perfect. I don't know how they are for pingpong, but I bought them for rescue kittens, and they were perfect.
Ping Pong balls, what more do you want?

Okay so some of the balls arn't exactly round, but this is still a great deal, and great if you have a Robo-Pong 2040. $30value (Free 4dz 40mm Balls, Train Book) or something similar. it says 3 stars on the ball, but they arn't exactly 3 star balls. You are only paying about 33 cents a ball, so how can you complain?
great balls (of fury)

My son and I are amateurs but we really like these large, bouncy balls. They're definitely more expensive than the cheapest brand but they seem to hold up well. I went for this large count size (72) because it's amazing how often a ball gets accidentally stepped on, paddle-smushed, or buried in all the junk in our garage where we play. I'm pretty sure I'd buy these again (if we ever make it to the end of our stash).

Great buy light weight even bounce...should last for around 10 hrs each ball based on my first few, much lighter and less bouncy than the ITTF balls but for a practice ball can't complain and I am an intermediate level medallist here at Singapore. These balls a great buy even for Asian/costs and standards...
Suspect product.

These balls are OK for the price, but they don't play as well as Butterfly 3 star orange balls. These seem lighter. I doubt they are authentic Butterfly balls.
Is it legal to have the product different than described???

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3D0LZ78Z5D5TE I have to make a response this time!!!
This is actually my first time to "write" review for Amazon.com. Please excuse my English and everything else. I want to let everyone knows what product they're actually buying.
ONE THING THAT MAY NOT MAKE SENSE IN THE VIDEO IS THAT: I said I returned them immediately after I received them, and I am actually showing the balls on the video because after I returned them, my club needed ping pong balls right away and the price went down to $24.99 so I bought another one immediately. (and same thing happened). Is it leagal to have the product different than advertised???
My conclusion for this product is that "it's your money, to me, I won't buy them again"
So make your decision, and good luck (you can return them to amazon anyways, but again, I won't do it)
Welcome to comment on anything, or ask more about this product (I will receive e-mail when customers comment on the review). |
Not worth the money

I don't understand how there could be 3-star and USTTA approved tournament ping-pong balls.
Its roundness is so poor that the ball gives ugly bounces and it flies very unsmooth.
What a waste for my 25 bucks! |
Do not buy this

Terrible, aweful, unplayable quality. These balls are lucky to be 1 star balls. I doubt the authenticity of this 3 star Butterfly markings. These balls will last forever because I cannot play with them. So irregular in bouncing. I have played the sport for over 25 years. Please beware. Don't buy the balls from Amazon. Get them from your usual Table Tennis equipment stores.
