There are a great number of different tips that you can employ for improving your tennis game, especially when it comes to serving. Right now, let us talk about the steps that can be taken to increase your serving capabilities. When you increase your ability to serve, you can increase all aspects of your game playing capabilities. This is a great way for you to ensure game playing success whether you are playing casually or in a professional tennis match.
5 - Watch the toss while serving.
The toss is a critically important element in every serve that you make. In order for you to serve effectively and with consistently, you are going to need to be able to toss to the same spot, or nearly the same spot, with every serve that you make. You are going to need to toss in the plane that you intend to swing into so that you will be able to groove your swing into that plane. If you end up tossing to different places every time then you are never going to groove your swing, and as a result you are going to end up having to learn several different types of swings in order to accommodate all of the different tosses that you make.
If you have a toss that is erratic, one of the ways that you can improve it is to focus on watching as you make it. Look at your tossing hand as you make the serve, and follow it closely with your eyes as it is moved down and then up again for the toss. Now watch the ball as it moves up and out of your hand. Do not look up to where you want the ball to be, but rather watch your hand put the ball there. Regularly practicing in watching your tossing hand is going to improve your tossing consistently tenfold.
6 - Change stance when serving in the sun.
One way to adjust your serve when you are serving in the sun is simply to alter your stance. Stand either more sideways or left sideways than how you would normally stand, tossing the ball to the exact same spot that you normally would do, as the ball will be in a different spot in relation to the sun, so you will be able to see it better when you go to swing at it. This brand new stance is going to force you to slightly change your swinging pattern, so you likely will not swing as well as you would in more ideal conditions. Still, at least you are going to have clear sighting of the ball, avoiding double faulting during the game as a result.
