Head Flexpoint 6MP

When it comes to budget rackets, that usually means budget features and a lousy product that will fall apart quickly. We didn’t have very high expectations when we tested this racket out, and we’re happy to say that we think we may have found a diamond in the rough here. It’s certainly not a racket that is going to take you to tournament level play, but it will get the job done for every day play or the occasional match on weekends.

For those looking for a quality racket that is great for practice, this is a very good choice. We found the balance to be just about perfect and the string material was actually very good. The grips do come in different sizes and we were impressed with the overall feel and how the racket handled. It was surprising to find a racket in this price range that didn’t feel like it was made out of plastic.

You can’t expect the moon when you’re buying a budget racket, but by far, this is one of the best cheap models you’ll find on the market. It’s well suited for those that are already familiar with the sport and just looking to pick up a back up racket, or for those that are interested in the sport, but not enough to warrant paying a few hundred dollars for a brand new racket.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

* Grip sizes available: 4 1/8, 4 3/8, 4 1/2, or 4 5/8.

* Length: 27 1/3 in

We really liked this racket, much to our surprise and recommend it to anyone that is trying to find a racket on a budget. That’s not the easiest thing to do and often, it means sacrificing quality. However, we found that this racket was very well made and actually did its job very well. It’s certainly not the best racket on the market, but it is one of the best budget rackets we have ever used.

You can’t expect it to have all the features that the more expensive rackets do, but it does have all the ones that really matter. Please note that this one does come unstrung, so you will need to either string it on your own, or take it to your local sporting goods store to have it done for you. For many players, this is actually a bonus, since you can adjust the tension perfectly for the way that you play.

It’s rare to find a budget racket that is still appropriate for intermediate players, so this one scored quite highly on our list. If you’re trying to save money, this is definitely the one to go with. Advanced players probably wouldn’t get much use out of it, but it is helpful for beginners and intermediate players, especially for those that are trying to save money but still get a nice racket.
