How to Buy the Best Junior Tennis Racquet
January 18th, 2010 | Product Review, Racket, Tennis
Buying tennis racquets is a lot more complicated than you might think. There are a few different categories of tennis racquets for you to choose from for your best game. The equipment that you choose for your game can make a big difference in the outcome of your game.
A junior tennis racquet is designed for a younger smaller player. They are specifically designed to accommodate the smaller arms and less muscle strength that a child will have in the game. These are lighter and allow the child to have a greater control over the racquet.
Your child's coach can make some recommendations on the right junior tennis racquet for your child. The coach will know your child's strengths and weaknesses in their game which will help determine which racquet is best.
When your child is interested in tennis and plays frequently, investing in a good quality junior tennis racquet is a worthwhile investment. Tennis is a great sport for your child to become involved in to get a great amount of exercise and improve their athletic abilities.
The proper junior tennis racquet is usually determined by body size, weight and playing ability. As your child progresses through the game, a new junior tennis racquet may be needed. Of course, as they grow and their body changes an adult sized racquet will eventually be needed.
The salesperson in the sporting goods store can help choose the right racquet for your child as they grow and their body changes. Adult racquets can vary in their weight and size as well. A power racquet is usually used by a beginning adult player or one who has a weaker shot. These are generally heavier in the head of the racquet, giving the player the power that they need to deliver a good shot.
Lighter control racquets are used by more advanced players. These are generally used to give a greater degree of control and precision in the shots. Advanced players will be able to maneuver these racquets with enough power to deliver the shots that they want.
There are also racquets that fall in between these two categories. They are designed for the intermediate player who still might not have the same power as an advanced player, but doesn't quite need the heavier power racquet any longer.
As you can see, there are many variations of tennis racquet and the junior tennis racquet is just the beginning of your child's journey through the game of tennis. As their skills improve and their strength becomes greater, it will only be a matter of time until they are playing with a control racquet.
Taking the time to choose the right racquet for your child will greatly improve the quality of their game. Along with the improvement to their game will come a greater enjoyment of the sport. Those who play the game well typically enjoy it more. A junior tennis racquet can increase the likelihood of this happening for your child and all of the benefits that can be found with tennis.
