If you already know a fair bit about tennis racquets and their specs, then you may assume that there is not much appeal in the Wilson KTour, at least for advanced players. At only 10.6 ounces when strung, this is a severely light tennis racquet with a balance that appears to be all wrong. Player's racquets in most cases are supposed to be head light.

This is a tour racquet from Wilson that is its fifth reincarnation, and it continues to buck this trend of even the oldest wood racquets gravitating toward a strung weight of 12 ounces with a balance that is head light. From its Hammer 5.2 roots, then through the H Tour and nTour versions, the Wilson KTour stays true to its form, offering a lighter than normal weight with an even balance. Most people will not view the KTour as a tour racquet, but they will also have trouble viewing it as a player's racquet, so what is the Wilson KTour?

The most simple answer to this question is this: The Wilson KTour is a very solid racquet.

Lindsay Davenport used the Wilson KTour at the 2008 Pacific Life Open, and explained that she uses these tour racquets as they allow her to maintain a certain level of consistency, even when she is hitting powerful groundstrokes. If Lindsay Davenport can find a happy balance between power and control when using this racquet on the courts, surely the average player can as well, right?

The KTour offers impressive groundstroke control, spin, maneuverability and power. The racquet offers a surprising amount of versatility, and players can see a definite improvement in this racquet over previous incarnations of the Wilson tour line. Volleys have also been impressive with this racquet because the racquet is easy to wield and still packs a serious punch. This is a light racquet at only 10.6 ounces when strung, and with its head heavy nature, it is powerful but does not lack in control. The spin and power received during serves on the court seem to be some of the most well defined features of the KTour offered by Wilson. Most players find that they are thrilled with the perfect balance between control and power that can be achieved even during serves.

Serve returns also improve with this racquet, as players have several different options to consider when returning, making the KTour an effective racquet choice. The combination of maneuverability and stability that the Wilson KTour offers makes it a true asset on the court. This racquet offers players a chance to diversify their game, offering maneuverability, stability, control and power in the perfect balance for strong results on the court.
