Complete Conditioning for Tennis is aimed at tennis players, tennis instructors and even coaches in strength and conditioning as well as other professionals in fitness. The new edition of this book is designed to provide a complete and total foundation of conditioning for the sport of tennis, including both training on the court and off the court as well. It covers a wide variety of different topics including assessment of level of fitness, exercise technique and the evaluation of different conditioning programs as well.
This is the second edition of this book, and has seen significant revisions and updates from the first edition. The second edition of this title includes a brand new DVD with footage from some of the most complex and most advanced exercises described within. Improving your tennis fitness will help to improve all aspects of your tennis game, not just your ability to stay in points for longer periods of time or to play more sets at a time. Some of the programs contained within this book target your speed, your strength and your stamina as well as the stability of your shoulders just to name a few.
This is easily a four or five star book, because there is nothing else like it out there. This book and DVD package is a must have for any player looking to take their game to the very next level. Many instructors are taking the lessons from this book and implementing them in their real life training programs, because the drills and the exercises in this book can be easily taken to the courts and implemented in no time at all. This book covers absolutely everything that you can think of when it comes to perfecting your game through conditioning for the sport of tennis.
This book is not only for serious players who are in excellent shape, but rather for anyone that is looking to improve their conditioning with good instruction. The one downside to this particular book is the fact that it does not go into detail about nutrition, but rather focuses completely on the conditioning through physical exercise. It does talk about water consumption and sodium. If you are already in decent shape and have the nutrition part of your conditioning plan figured out, then this is definitely the book for you, because it will allow you to take your conditioning plan a step further with fool proof conditioning instruction. If you are really into tennis and your priority is to improve your health and conditioning for improved game play, then this DVD and book combination is an ideal way to get started. Hopefully the next incarnation of this title will include even more in depth information including nutrition and assistance for the weekend player as well as the serious player.
