If you love the sport of tennis and can’t get enough news, Tennis Magazine may be the best solution. While there are a bunch of other sport magazines, few are dedicated solely to this sport, and it has become very popular among true fans of the game. Whether you plan tennis, or you just like following the professional circuit, Tennis Magazine has quite a lot to offer.
The magazine is a monthly, but there are only 10 issues a year, so keep this in mind when ordering. We were impressed with the overall quality of the paper and the packaging, especially since it’s priced under $15 in most outlets. You’ll be paying quite a bit more at the newsstand, but if you get it online, it’s easy enough to find a good deal on it. But don’t let the low price fool you, this is a quality magazine.
The magazine was founded by tennis legend Chris Evert and you can tell that she’s had a big hand in putting together a resource that both players and fans can really use and enjoy. The advice columns on tennis gear and beginner tips are great and there are plenty of articles that even pros will enjoy. The magazine also includes the current standings and rankings for players across the world, making it a lot easier to stay on top of the scores and your favorite players.
Perhaps the best feature about Tennis Magazine is that is includes real advice from professional tennis players, and that right there is worth way more than the cover price. We found the tips to be very useful and you can head right out on the court and put them to good use. It’s hard to find that in a magazine nowadays and many have gone to strictly fluff content. We found it refreshing that Tennis Magazine managed to avoid that, instead providing a really solid reading experience that you can enjoy. We recommend saving your issues and archiving them to go back over the tips later.
This would make a perfect gift for a tennis nut in your family or among friends. For budding tennis players, the interviews and features offer a solid foundation to keep them motivated and learning. We enjoyed the numerous articles and found that there was a lot of substance to the magazine. It has its share of ads, but they’ve done a good job of steering clear of the pitfalls of having too many. There is a lot of useful content packed in these pages and overall, we found the price to be quite low, considering the quality of the magazine.
It’s a great buy and as a gift, it will certainly keep on giving throughout the year. There were a few things that we would have liked to have seen done differently, but overall, this is a great magazine and one of the best tennis related mags we have come across in quite some time.
