While some of these results are more on the surprising side, it was no surprise to see top seeded players like Andy Murray and Andy Roddick playing as well as they did. Some of these matches were especially exciting to watch, especially the performance put on by Andy Roddick as he defeated Ivo Karlovic from Croatia with 7 - 6 in both rounds. The match between Andy Murray and United States player Mardy Fish was also particularly enjoyable to watch, as the battle was tight in the first round with 7 - 5, before Andy Murray took the win in the second round with 6 - 3.
